Aesthetically pleasing nail trimmers. I love the spring loaded mechanism to make it easier to trim quickly. Safe guard ensures you don’t trim too closely.Great nail trimmers, but the guard is absolutely useless and unless your dog has insanely long nails do not go all the way to the guard or you will cut their toe off. The guard blocks your view unless slid to the side. I just pretend it is not there and they are great.Works great on an elderly dog that hates nail clipping. These clippers were easier to use because they are sharp and make a quick clip with hardly any noise. It scares me how it snaps down. I have a teacup yorkie poo. She weighs 4 pounds. I am scared I clip her little paw. It’s a little rough to use to clip. Also I don’t know if I am holding it wrong or what but her nail does some weird twisted right before I clip her nailDid the job perfectlyThe only complaint we have is the shield makes it difficult to see how far down the nail we are clipping. We had to move it to the side to see what we were doing. Perhaps we are using it wrong?Otherwise, the clippers cut well. When I’ve tried dog nail clippers in the past, it usually turned out to be a traumatic experience for both the dog as well as me. I needed a second pair of hands to hold him still and I inevitably got so stressed, I would have to stop. So, for the past year, our rescue Chihuahua has gone to the groomers to get his nails trimmed. That was until I decided to give these clippers a try.My dog wasn’t too sure in the beginning (neither was I), but each time I’ve clipped his nails, it’s gotten better. What do I like about the nail clipper?1) It’s comfortable and easy to hold the rubber covered handles. I’m not constantly needing to readjust my grip or worry that I will slip.2) Our chihuahua’s nails are black, which makes it very hard to see the quick. The “safety stop guard” actually helps to prevent me from cutting his nails too short. I have never had this feature on any of my other clippers and we both love it!The only thing I’m not particularly fond of is the nail file. It is just too difficult to pull out of the handle and too small for me to use comfortably. Honestly, the safety guard more than makes up for it.the size of the clippers is perfect for my hand. the locking mechanism is on the side, which is great, because the last pair i had the mechanism was on the front and would lock every time i clipped a nail. these are super sharp. the file is not big enough for my taste, and was hard to get out of the handle, i had to use a pair of pliers to get it out. i will probably just use my Emory boards as i always have for that touch up.
